Absolute Color Mastery! Paintings by Anne-Sophie Tschiegg
I’m obsessed by Anne-Sophie Tschiegg’s use of color in her paintings. This is beyond pretentious to say, but the color is like another character on the canvas. It shows up here and there in surprising little details, luring your eye around the canvas as you simultaneously take in the subject matter.
My favorites of hers are her groups of people, all mass of color and humans, and usually an extra hand or two to add a dash of mystery. They start to veer a bit to the abstract in areas, and I pick up a little Egon Schiele and maybe a dash of Gauguin in her work.
